Compensation: $80-90K, actual salary the successful candidate is offered will be dependent on several factors related to the specified position and experience.

Job Summary
Reporting to the Project Engineering Manager, the Application Engineer will provide calculations and drawings for vibration isolation and seismic restraint systems for the Noise and Vibration Control (NVC) business unit.
Responsibilities
• Review project specifications and drawings, perform engineering calculations and select/apply suitable NVC products
• Review project drawings and mark up seismic restraint points for piping, electrical conduit, and/or ductwork, in accordance with applicable Building Code and Project Specifications
• Design equipment bases, pipe/duct risers, floating floors and basic structural design
• Prepare project submittals and shop drawings
• Coordinate with stamping engineers to support and facilitate review and approval of seismic calculations and restraint designs
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives and streamlining engineering processes
• Support product management team, project managers and sales team with all engineering requirements at the direction of the Project Engineering Manager
• Leading the documentation and maintaining SOPs, policies and standards for the VIRS Application Engineering team
• Assist with engineering teamwork scheduling
• Additional responsibilities as required to support the NVC team
Qualifications
• University degree in Mechanical or Civil-Structural Engineering, P. Eng is an asset
• Minimum 5+ years HVAC industry experience
• Strong knowledge of building codes & seismic requirements (NBC, IBC, ASCE 7)
• Leadership skills
• Detail oriented, with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Management of multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent oral and written communications skills, communicates effectively with all stakeholders
• Ability to communicate effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience with ERP and CRM systems (e.g. Infor M3, SAP)
• Familiarity with QMS (Quality Management System)
• Comply with the administrative requirements of ERP (M3) system and SBT
• Builds and maintains collaborative and constructive working relationships (internally and externally)
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
• Proficient with AutoCAD, SolidWorks and Bluebeam Revu for designing and implementing automation solutions
